All our sites except Fusion101 (our legacy site) use WordPress platform. From WordPress.com: “WordPress is not a tool which gives you (the site owner) a lot of personally or legally sensitive details on your visitors by default.” Both on our WordPress sites and our Fusion101 legacy platform we only set cookies and collect personal data required for the site to function properly. We do not sell any user data only need what is necessary for the site to function and connect you to other Christians. However – for the placement of adverts to keep our site free, other data may be collected and analysed by our ad partners depending on your settings (see below).

General note on our advertisers

The automated ads on our sites are sourced from advertisers and displayed by Google. These advertisers are called ‘Vendors’. To see what data our advertisers (Google vendors) collect on our sites to display relevant personalised (or non-personalised if you prefer) ads see below.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site (this does not apply to activity streams or ‘shoutboxes’) we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection by a third party plugin or service. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Contact forms

Contact and support forms collect whatever information the user types into the form only to allow us to reply or answer the sender’s question. Contact us using the Contact links at the bottom of any website page.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

When users register on our websites, we store the personal information they provide in their user account and profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their own personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. We retain the information on our site as long as the member remains a member. Members can delete their data themselves or contact us using the Contact link at the bottom of any page.

Media

As with any online service, if you upload images to the websites, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Whilst it would be rare for someone to do so – a visitor could potentially download and extract any location data from images on the website (this does not apply to data you enter in your account or profile).

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file* of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. *We are unable to provide a ‘data file’ for Fusion101 members, as the platform was not constructed to export any types of files such as emails sent to other users, and only logs functional data like logging in info and date etc. However, on instruction we will delete all user data contained in the site’s database.

Your contact information

Your contact information (ie email or address and phone) is only visible to the site admin and NOT visible to other members or web surfers.
