So why did the number ‘101’ end up in our sites and services? Well – in 1998/8 I was trying to come up with a generic term I could use that could be adapted to anything and everything I might think of – service-wise in the future. ‘101’ it seemed to me was that name. Then very soon after the name 101ChristianNetworks seemed the natural progression – a name that could be used for any type of Christian website or service I may think of. I had all sorts in mind – online funding for charities, a carboot sale site – yep I actually registered carboot.tv way back in 2000 (eBay came years later) – but to be honest – I had way too many ideas.

First, I had in mind to find a way to help single Christians – that or watch the species die out! Now at the time there was a large stigma attached to all things singles and I wanted a name that didn’t feature the word dating or singles’ or heaven forbid – ‘matchmaking’! So – accordingly our first service however was a website ‘Fusion101’ (now 101FREEChristianDating) that went on to have thousands and thousands of great Christians as members. The idea behind 101ChristianNetworks was to choose a name that could be used for any type of service or website as I had 20 years ago – all manner of ideas I wanted to create to help Christians. Actually I registered a company; 101Networks LTD – but I had already started using the company name Fusion101 Ltd – which I still like and has stuck.

Fusion101.com – or ‘101 Christian singles’ – unlike most ‘Christian’ portals and web sites, was started with the simple intention to help Christians to meet easily without the price tag. Our services are mostly free and we only charge for a few services so we can develop our help service for Christians. The singles service is the best absolutely free Christian dating and personals service online if you can’t afford to pay!!!:)

So 20 years later ‘101’ really is well -known in the Christian online web world, and we now have a dozen Christian websites that offer social networking, directories that feature Christian articles, events, holidays, products, goods and services that we like as well as pages and portals featuring our favourite Christian books, and Christian Worship CD’s and Music to buy or download.
